| Ampersand Families | We are a small non-profit organization that works with older youth in the foster care to help them obtain permanency before aging out of the system. We focus on Rel/Kin work to help keep youth in their communities. We do licensing for both Rel/Kin and Non-Rel/Kin and provide various permanency supportive services. |
| Animal Humane Society | The Animal Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. The Society seeks to maintain and develop programs and facilities which promote and expand the human/animal bond. Incorporated in 1891 as the Minneapolis Humane Society, the organization was known as the Animal Rescue League for many years. In 1965 the name was changed to the Animal Humane Society of Hennepin County. In 1999, the name was officially changed to Animal Humane Society, in part to clarify the fact that the organization is not part of the county government and is not supported by tax dollars. |

| CAIR-Minnesota | The Council on American-Islamic Relations
(CAIR), America’s largest Islamic civil liberties and advocacy group has 35
offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the
understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower
American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual
understanding. The demand for our services has grown tremendously. From
restrictions placed on Muslims to practice their religion, to profiling and
discrimination stemming from a lack of understanding of Islam, the need for
CAIR in Minnesota is great. The proof is reflected in the dramatic increase
in civil rights cases by 250% from 2007 to 2013. CAIR-Minnesota strives to
ensure that Muslims in Minnesota enjoy the same protections that all
Americans have. Enhancing the Understanding of Islam CAIR-MN actively engages with the media to ensure that a fair and accurate portrayal of Islam and Muslims is presented to the American public. This is accomplished through media appearances, press conferences, opinion editorials and letters to the editor. In addition, CAIR-Minnesota provides training to community members, media professionals, and employers. Media professionals are engaged In discussions about working with the Muslim community, with the purpose of helping to create an environment where fair and balanced journalism can thrive. The Muslim community is educated on working with the media to assert their rights and respond with confidence when met with requests for interviews. Promoting Justice Protecting the rights of Minnesota Muslims is at the core of CAIR-Minnesota’s mission. We work vigorously to educate on behalf of community members experiencing discrimination and remedy cases through in-person negotiations, from filing charges of discrimination, letter writing, and referrals to our attorney referral network. Cases range from employment, public accommodation and school discrimination, to hate crimes and governmental religious/racial profiling. |

With a strong focus on conservation and serving over 2 million visitors annually, our expert staff is dedicated to the wellbeing of the many plants and animals that live here. |
| Dress for Success Twin Cities | Dress
for Success Twin Cities believes in empowering every woman through
employment. We offer high touch, high impact career and workplace skills development programs for low income women to help them achieve career advancement, career stability and economic sustainability. Our purpose is to offer long-lasting solutions that enable women to break the cycle of poverty. Dress for Success Twin Cities is part of a global movement for change, empowering women to obtain safer and better futures. |
| Every Meal | We fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. Our free Weekend Meal Program served nearly 12,000 children last school year. A 4-5lb bag of non-perishable food is put right into the backpack of children enrolled in the program at the end of each school week. There are no qualifications to participate in the program. We focus on the weekend food gap when kids aren’t at school to receive breakfast and lunch. |

Our staff reflect the communities we serve through shared lived experiences and cultural background, and many can provide services in languages other than English. Our programs focus on natural supports, experiential learning, education, and a therapeutic approach with expertise in trauma-effective care. |

Through experiential learning focused on financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship, students build the skills required to succeed in today’s dynamic world. We focus on empowering students across our entire region and ensuring equitable access to opportunities as we work across Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Wisconsin. |

| Prepare + Prosper | Prepare + Prosper, a nonprofit organization,
works to build financial health and provide access to quality tax and
financial services, and so much more. We are reshaping the financial
landscape by partnering and innovating to offer services, products, and
options that build wealth – not strip it – for families working hard to build
a brighter financial future. We strive to work with people, communities, and
systems to break down barriers and develop solutions to real financial
opportunity and success. Specifically, we provide free tax and financial services, financial coaching, and access to financial products. We also advocate and work to advance policies and practices that directly affect people with low- to moderate-incomes in the areas of tax credits, asset-building, and consumer protection. |

| Reading Partners | Reading Partners is an education nonprofit that mobilizes community volunteers to provide one-on-one literacy tutoring to aspiring elementary-aged readers. Becoming a volunteer tutor requires no experience, as we provide an easy-to-follow curriculum that includes all of the books, activities, and set-by-step lesson plans to teach an effective lesson. |

Follow-Up on Your Interview STAR (Strength, Time, And Resilience) House is a crisis nursery which exists to provide a temporary home away from home for children and supportive services to uplift and strengthen the entire family. Currently there are no emergency overnight care services for children in the St. Paul or Ramsey County area, and there is an exceptional need for this service in the area. STAR House will provide children aged birth through six years a temporary home for up to 72 hours at a time and caregivers with resources they need to achieve stability and ultimately thrive. |
| The Family Partnership | For more than 145 years, The Family Partnership has successfully partnered with families and individuals to remove barriers and clear the path for success for those who have experienced deep poverty and trauma. Their programs encompass early childhood education and care, mental health, family home visiting, and anti-sex trafficking believing that when this generation heals, the next generation thrives. |

| Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota | The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota (WRC) is the busiest wildlife rehabilitation center in the world seeing over 17,000 animals annually. WRC’s mission is to rehabilitate and release our wild animal patients back into the wild. WRC is a non-profit organization that has a staff of 40 and relies greatly on the efforts of volunteers and interns during the busy summer months. Our opportunities provide hands-on experience working with wildlife. |
