Diverse Books Fundraiser

During the Summer of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, we  wanted to help ensure kids  have access to  books that  promote inclusivity and equality for children of color. We did that by collecting donations  to enable us to buy diverse books that we donated to people who have Little Libraries or other community settings in the Roseville area.

For this project we partnered with the Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute.  PPGJLI is a local nonprofit promoting social change through education and youth literacy.  For more information, go to https://www.ppgjli.org/. These are the books we bought. Thank you also to PPGJLI for also donating books for the cause.

Here are pictures of some of Little Libraries that received books as well as a school teacher at Centerville Elementary. A set of books also went to Mary, who reads books to neighborhood kids in a park near her home each week.
