Roseville is a community where caring actions happen year-round. Roseville Cares is a new effort spotlighting these caring actions in our community and inspiring others to “care it forward.” There is no limit to what this looks like—it’s is up to you!
It may mean holding the door open for someone, sharing a
meal, helping with a chore, or volunteering for a service project.
To celebrate doing good in our community, we are hosting a week of community projects called “Roseville Cares” the first week of February 2025. The week builds on the annual Charity Week at Roseville Area High School. Roseville Cares is brought to you by Do Good Roseville in partnership with the Roseville Area Optimists Club’s Character Development Initiative (CDI).
We’re kicking off Roseville Cares with a Family Service Fair followed by a week of community based projects. There are opportunities for everyone to be involved: families, book clubs, pickleball teams, civic groups, faith communities, scouts, a whole company or a department within a company. Any formal or informal group of people can find ways to show they care about our community, and we have the ideas to get you started!!
Here is a flyer which describes both aspects of Roseville Cares, or you can print one just of the fair, or just for projects further down on the page.
Kickoff: Family Service Fair
This free event is a series of stations which feature kid-friendly, hands-on service- learning projects for local non-profits. Make Valentine cards for seniors at Friends and Co, help make fleece blankets for My Very Own Bed, make forever flowers for seniors, put together catnip toys for Pet Haven and much more! Our list is continuing to grow!
The concept of a Family Service Fair comes from an organization called Doing Good Together. They have a wealth of information and ideas for raising caring kids. Check out this infographic from Doing Good Together on “How to Raise Children Who Care and Contribute”. Also from Doing Good Together you can download their Spark Warmth Bingo filled with simple acts of kindness to Spark Bonfires of Compassion. This might be a good family event for February.

Here is a list of service projects featured at the fair:
| Bridge to Basics | Collecting hygiene products |
| Brighter Days Family Grief Center | Painting rocks |
| Bundles of Love | Cutting ribbons and making tams |
| Cards for Hospitalized Kids | Making cards for sick kids |
| Friends and Co | Making Valentines for seniors |
| Do Good Roseville | Making forever flowers for local senior housing building |
| My Very Own Bed | Tying polar fleece blankets |
| Operation Gratitude | Coloring pages and letters to active service members |
| Pet Haven | Making catnip toys |

Projects Week – Feb 1 – 9
We encourage businesses, organizations, athletic teams, book clubs, or any group of people to come together to do a service project to kick off a year of doing good in our community.
How many times have you thought “we should do xyz” but it never happens? Roseville Cares Project Week is here to be the spark, and to give you an inspirational deadline to do something!! Gather your team, your group, your club, your friends, your neighbors, your church group, etc., and select a project to undertake during the week of February 1–9. Not sure who to get to do a project with you? We have some projects where you can sign-up and get to know a new group of people. Win/Win!
You may already know of an organization you’d like to support and we encourage you to reach out to them as part of Roseville Cares. We know that sometimes the barrier to doing good things is knowing what to do. We’re here to help with that. We have gathered a list of potential projects from around the Twin Cities that can be done during Projects Week.
