Beginning in 2019, Do Good Roseville plans to host a monthly group volunteer event as part of our goal to help actively engage more people in our community and build connections to other organizations doing good things in our community.
Saturday, February 16 – Bundles of Love
Join us for a family friendly one-time volunteer event to create ‘Bundles of Love’! On Saturday, February 16 we are hosting a group volunteer event at the Bundles of Love (bundlesoflove.org/new-brighton). You can signup here Volunteer signup or email Kathy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bundles of Love is an all-volunteer non-profit that partners with community organizations to assist Minnesota families in need by providing handmade items for newborns. Their vision is a world where every newborn has access to the basics. They have work groups across the Twin Cities that sew, knit and crochet newborn baby clothes and put together bundles. A bundle is a bag of about 30 items that a mother in need would need to take her baby home from the hospital. Most of the items are handmade but we also include diapers, baby wash and baby wipes.
This event will be two shifts:
9 to 11 am – 15 people to put bundles together and 5 sewers (must provide your own sewing machine)
12 to 2 pm – 20 people to cut out items, pin diaper bags, cut ribbons, etc.
The age limit for children is 8 years old. Younger kids are recommended for the first shift.
Bundles of love is located at 445 Old Highway 8 in New Brighton. They are at the end of the little strip mall next to the Dairy Queen. Volunteers should park either across the street or in the parking lot down below our building. To get to that lot, you go down the hill between their building and the Dairy Queen. The parking lot in front of their location has a few spots reserved for people who cannot physically walk across the street.
Saturday, January 12 – Twin Cities Kids in Need Resource Center
Look at this amazing group of DRG volunteers at Twin Cities Kids In Need Resource Center! They did a great job packing bags, sorting and boxing supplies and labeling bags for math kits.
