Human trafficking is a human rights violation that involves the exploitation of a person for labor or sex.  Labor and sex trafficking often overlap as victims who are trafficked for labor are also vulnerable to sexual exploitation.  Panel will consist of survivors and experts who will answer your questions about this public health crisis and how you can help. Moderated by Sherry Sanders.

By using personal stories on a diversity of life experiences, this series aims to create dialogue, promote understanding and forge a stronger community. Presented in partnership with Do Good Roseville & Ramsey County Library, funding for this series provided by Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries.

Are you looking for a way to connect with other people who want to discuss issues of social justice? Join your neighbors and fellow community members in reading, discussing and educating ourselves with our new Social Justice Book Club which will meet every other month. There are no easy answers, and checking your privilege is a necessity, but we welcome anyone who wants to engage in challenging and thoughtful discussion. We are very excited that the book club will be led by Huda Yusef.

We will continue with the book : “A Good Time for the Truth” edited by Sun Yung Shin. We will cover a chapter at each meeting. The next chapter is: “Say What” by Carolyn Holbrook.

Laura Gilbert, author of The Stories We Leave Behind, provides a creative, personal approach to dealing with the stuff you may have acquired that the next generation does not want. Rather than asking what you can live without, you will ask “How do I want to be remembered?” and then consider what tells those stories. In the process, you will learn core concepts and techniques to preserve your best stories and avoid a messy cleanup for loved ones. We will discuss how we got here, why dealing with our stuff is so hard, common roadblocks to action, and suggestions to work through them. Learn to apply new techniques to your own situation so you can embrace your space for the life you want now.

Presented in partnership with Ramsey County Library. Funding for this program is provided by the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries.
