Better Angels Registration

Better Angels is a national citizens’ movement to reduce political polarization in the United States.  The goals of the workshop are to better understand the experiences and beliefs of those on the other side of the political divide.   Do Good Roseville and the Ramsey County Library are pleased to present 3 programs from Better Angels in September!

The Better Angels Red/Blue Workshop”Can We Bridge the Divide” brings together about 5-7 Republican-leaning citizens and 5-7 Democratic-leaning citizens for 7 hours of structured conversation.  This workshop focuses on listening and reflecting than debating and persuading.

This program will be offered two times.  Each session runs from 10 am to 5 pm.

Learn skills for having respectful conversations that clarify differences, search for common ground, and affirm the importance of relationship.  In this workshop you will have an opportunity to practice conversation skills with someone of your same political persuasion.  Anyone interested in having better conversations with people on the other side of the political aisle is welcome!

The workshop presenter is Bill Doherty, a founder of Better Angels and a University of Minnesota Professor.  You will have an opportunity to practice conversation skills in pairs with someone of your same political persuasion.   Anyone interested in having better conversations with people on the other side of the political aisle is welcome!
